Residential Camp

Come join Camp K in making unforgettable memories! Our goal is to provide a summer camp that promotes a healthy lifestyle for individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities, utilizing education and therapeutic recreation. During the week, campers will enjoy activities that include riding horses, swimming in a heated pool, fishing in a trout pondlow/high ropes courseclimbing wall, arts and crafts, nature, sports, games, and much more. Our five-day residential camps runs from Monday-Friday.

Campers stay in bunk-style cabins, and have 24-hour supervision by our trained staff members.  At week’s end, campers will be recognized during an award ceremony, and receive a group photo and camp T-shirt.

Friendships are made and rekindled, and new experiences and adventures happen each week. Each camp week is designed to accommodate a different age and ability level of camper.  Supervision ratio is one staff member for every four campers. If your camper needs a higher level of supervision, prior approval must be given, and every effort will be made to accommodate him/her.  If you have any questions, please contact our office at 801-582-0700 x100, or kdf@campk.org.

This upcoming Summer 2021, Camp K will continue to provide our big hit Day Camps (Monday-Friday), along with bringing a brand-new program to life– Summer Saturday Mini Day Camps– hosted on Saturdays! Our wonderful staff are excited to continue creating memorable experiences for our participants. We are very thankful to our families who are entrusting us with providing care to their loved ones during these unprecedented times.

Day Camps will be available to children, teens, and adults starting with age 7. As we will serve different ages and abilities, participants will be divided in smaller, age-appropriate groups. This will be based on registration totals. In addition, Camp K is opening our Day Camps to everyone, regardless of having a disability or not. If there are siblings without a disability who want to attend, they are welcome to register! If any of your friends or neighbors would like to register their children to attend our Day Camp Programs, we would love to enroll them! Everyone is welcome to join us.

Our All-Inclusive Summer Day Camps run Monday-Friday from 9:00 am-5:00 pm. Our Summer Saturday Mini Day Camps will run Saturdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Each Saturday will have an exciting theme, hosted activities all around Camp K, and will have lunch provided for participants. We will cater these meals from Ruth’s Diner.

When arriving at Camp K, we ask for all participants and guardians to remain in the front parking lot, in their vehicles, until a staff member can check them in. The check-in process will include a temperature check and completion of a health questionnaire. Our continually practiced protocols include social distancing, wearing masks, thorough disinfection of all activity areas/supplies, and serving our participants in small groups. Staff will walk participants one-by-one to their vehicle for check-out at the end of each activity.

Since the pandemic hit our world, we are proud to have successfully kept Camp K open; following all health and safety guidelines, with no health issues and with zero documented evidence of any transmission of COVID-19 at Camp K.

Camp Kostopulos’ top priority is the health and safety of our campers and staff. After much consideration of the current situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and discussion with trusted medical professionals from the Health Department, we made the difficult decision not to host overnight camp programs in 2021.

While we are confident this is the right decision for the safety of our community, we join campers and camper families in feeling disappointed. We know how much our participants look forward to these life-changing weeks of overnight programs at Camp K every year— please know this decision was not made lightly.

Our campus is beautiful— our facilities are state of the art and ready to welcome our participants!
